Hi! I’m Ava, and I’d love to help you achieve your academic goals!
Some of the biggest turning points in my education came from having an incredible tutor. As a student, I remember feeling overwhelmed by certain subjects until I found someone who was supportive, patient, fun, and explained concepts in a way that finally clicked. Over the years, she became not only one of my tutors but also a mentor, inspiring my own passion for teaching. Today, I strive to be that kind of tutor for my students.
I recently graduated cum laude from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Public Health and completed the University Honors Program, with extensive coursework in psychology, biology, chemistry, statistics, and health sciences. I also scored a 35 on the ACT. I’ve been tutoring students for over six years through private one-on-one tutoring, college academic support, and music instruction, working with elementary, middle school, high school, and college students. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and personalized.
My tutoring experience includes high school math (through Introductory Calculus), ACT/SAT preparation, high school Spanish, English and essay writing, music (beginner guitar, piano, ukulele, and voice), college-level General Biology, General Chemistry, Statistics, Psychology, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Public Health, and editing college application and academic essays. I also enjoy helping students strengthen organization, time management, and executive functioning skills.
I’m available for online tutoring as well as in-person lessons throughout the greater Seattle area. Whether you’re preparing for an exam, tackling a challenging class, or looking to build confidence in a subject, I’d love to help. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
