As a graduate from University of Washington with my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education as well with my endorsement in Special Education, I have a very strong interest in pursuing a teaching career. With experience working at an elementary school, as well in activities outside of the traditional classroom, I have a diverse background with much to offer.
My core belief as an educator is believing that all children can learn while also helping them succeed in ways to grow up as kind and well-rounded humans.
My first classroom teaching experience was during my third year of college where I had the opportunity to assist ELL students with writing after school. In addition, I worked for several summers as a nanny from the ages of 2 years old to 12 years old including children with hard of hearing as I also planned many engaging and learning opportunities for children.
I have student teaching experience at a second-grade level in a suburban school district. During this time, I particularly enjoyed working with at-risk children. My careful preparation of lessons allowed me to break down complicated concepts to simple examples that my young students could grasp, which was rewarding for both my students and I as well. I also believe that creating a safe learning environment for students also allows for better management. Effective classroom management requires understanding, patience, good timing, limits, and instinct which I believe that I fulfill in. I have also experience as Special Education Teacher where I designed and implemented Individualized Educational Plans and collaborated with parents and school staff to track students’ progress and build long lasting relationships.
Beyond my student teaching experience and classroom management skills I believe that my enthusiasm and uplifting spirit will make a positive impact as a part of the professional teaching team. I am excited by the prospect of working alongside your child to help them grow to their best potential.
