Elementary Math

Hello! My name is Geetika, and I am a dedicated student with a strong academic background and a passion for helping others succeed. As a Running Start student, I have completed advanced mathematics courses beyond Geometry, including Calculus, which has strengthened my problem-solving, analytical thinking, and mathematical reasoning skills. Geometry has always been one of my favorite areas of math because it combines logic, visual thinking, and real-world applications. I enjoy helping students understand challenging concepts such as proofs, angles, triangles, circles, coordinate geometry, transformations, area, and volume. My goal is not only to help students find the correct answers but also to help them understand the reasoning behind each step so they can become confident, independent learners. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to meet each student's needs. Whether someone needs help reviewing fundamentals, preparing for quizzes and exams, completing homework, or building confidence in math, I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where questions are always welcome. As both a student and mentor, I understand the challenges that can come with learning mathematics. My patience, communication skills, and commitment to academic success allow me to explain concepts clearly and break down difficult problems into manageable steps. Prealgebra

I have completed coursework through college-level statistics and calculus, along with extensive experience with algebra, geometry, pre-algebra, and other foundational math topics. I focus on breaking problems down step-by-step, identifying where a student is struggling, and building their confidence rather than simply giving them the answer. I can help with topics such as order of operations, fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions, integers, expressions, equations, inequalities, exponents, and introductory graphing. My goal is to make pre-algebra easier to understand while helping students develop problem-solving skills they can use independently.

Precalculus

I am qualified to tutor Precalculus because I have successfully completed advanced mathematics coursework and developed a strong understanding of algebraic functions, trigonometry, graphing, and problem-solving techniques. Through my academic experience, I have learned how to break down complex concepts into smaller, more manageable steps and explain them clearly to others. I am patient, organized, and enjoy helping students build confidence in their math skills. I have experience assisting classmates with coursework and understand that different students learn in different ways. I have a strong background in reading, writing, and comprehension through my college coursework and tutoring experience. I’m a sophomore in college and have completed college-level Technical Writing & Research, where I developed strong skills in reading, analyzing, researching, and communicating information clearly. I can help students improve reading comprehension by breaking passages down into manageable sections, identifying main ideas and supporting details, understanding context and vocabulary, and explaining what they’ve read in their own words. I also focus on helping students develop confidence and independent reading strategies rather than simply giving them answers.

Writing

I am qualified to tutor writing because I have strong academic writing skills developed through advanced high school and college-level coursework. I have experience writing research papers, analytical essays, and technical reports, which has helped me develop a strong understanding of grammar, organization, thesis development, and evidence-based writing. In addition to my own writing experience, I enjoy helping others improve their work by providing feedback on clarity, structure, and style. I am patient, detail-oriented, and able to explain writing concepts in a way that is easy to understand.
