Hi, I’m Savannah.
I started working with students a few years ago in childcare and afterschool programs, helping kids with reading, writing, and homework. What I didn’t expect was how much I would come to enjoy sitting one-on-one with someone, figuring out how they think, and helping something finally click for them.
That experience naturally led me into working with English learners.
Since then, I’ve worked with both children and adults from different language backgrounds—especially students who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of themselves when it comes to English. Some of my students are just starting out, and others are trying to sound more natural in conversation, improve their writing, or succeed in school or work.
I also completed an ESOL certification and practicum through a U.S. Department of Education–accredited program, where I worked directly with adult learners building real-world English skills.
At the same time, I’ve been finishing my degree in psychology, which has shaped the way I teach. I pay attention to how people learn, where they get stuck, and how to explain things in a way that actually makes sense—not just academically, but practically.
