Robert is a great teacher. He is incredibly patient with me, especially when I forget signs or my hand signs are a little sloppy. He is always encouraging, positive, and genuinely helps me stay motivated to keep learning and improving. As a member of the Deaf community, Robert also brings something especially valuable to the experience. He helps me better understand the nuances, culture, and expectations of the Deaf community from the perspective of someone who is hard of hearing. That insight has been just as valuable as learning the language itself. Robert has become not only a great teacher, but also a friend. I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn and better understand ASL and the Deaf community.

Best ASL teacher I've found on Wyzant!
I tried out a couple different tutors on Wyzant before ultimately choosing Robert. Since day one, our lessons have always run very smoothly and efficiently. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a lot of experience teaching a wide range of ages and levels, so no matter where you're at in your ASL journey, Robert will know how to help. I also really appreciate that he respects our time. We always begin on time and we don't run late, and because of this we are always able to make the absolute most of the hour.
