I’m a Deaf adult fluent in American Sign Language. I have 9 years of experience teaching in Deaf Education and teaching college-level ASL for an Interpreter Prep program. I bring a unique blend of formal teaching expertise and lived cultural experience to every lesson.

I grew up hard of hearing in South Texas, losing most of my remaining hearing at 35. I earned a Master's in Special Education. For nine years, I taught language-deprived deaf students and those with multiple disabilities....

Best ASL teacher I've found on Wyzant!

I tried out a couple different tutors on Wyzant before ultimately choosing Robert. Since day one, our lessons have always run very smoothly and efficiently. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a lot of experience teaching a wide range of ages and levels, so no matter where you're at in your ASL journey, Robert will know how to help. I also really appreciate that he respects our time. We always begin on time and we don't run late, and because of this we are always able to make the absolute most of the hour.
