I recently graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Computer Science, specializing in Data Science. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have developed a deep passion for education and mentoring. Whether I am helping a student master foundational math concepts or guiding them through complex programming logic, my goal is to make learning accessible, engaging, and tailored to each individual's unique learning style.
I bring several years of diverse teaching experience spanning across age groups and instructional formats. I have worked extensively as a private tutor, providing one-on-one instruction in math and history for elementary and middle school students. In this setting, my approach focuses on building confidence by breaking down intimidating topics into manageable steps and adapting my teaching methods when a student hits a roadblock. I also volunteered as an online math instructor for elementary students through the King County Library System (KCLS), which honed my ability to keep young learners focused and engaged in a virtual environment. For high school students, I served as a solo Lead Instructor for SAT Math prep with Schoolhouse World. My approach to test prep emphasizes strategic problem-solving and recognizing underlying patterns rather than rote memorization, which helps students maximize their scores and test-day confidence.
Beyond foundational subjects, I have experience teaching STEM and computer science concepts. At the university level, I served as a workshop lead instructor for a major artificial intelligence collective, where I taught large classrooms of peers how to build and deploy modern technical systems. This classroom experience taught me how to clearly communicate highly technical, complex subjects to interdisciplinary audiences. Whether we are tackling middle school algebra, SAT strategies, or introductory coding, I am dedicated to providing a patient, supportive, and highly personalized tutoring environment to help every student succeed.
