With over 15 years of interdisciplinary teaching, tutoring, and research experience, I bring a uniquely student-centered approach to academic instruction. My educational journey includes a Ph.D. in Philosophy with a specialization in Public Service Leadership and Human Services from Capella University, along with advanced degrees in Criminal Justice (M.A.), Health Care Administration (P.B.C.), Human Resources (B.A. cum laude), and Legal Studies (A.A.). These academic credentials provide a strong foundation for tutoring across a broad spectrum of subjects including sociology, philosophy, criminology, race and equity studies, and grant writing.
Throughout my career, I have taught and facilitated learning for diverse audiences—from college undergraduates and adult learners to nonprofit leaders and community members—through both in-person and online platforms. My tutoring and teaching philosophy is rooted in critical pedagogy, cultural responsiveness, and inquiry-based learning. At institutions like Valparaiso University and Capella University, I designed and led courses that emphasized both academic rigor and social relevance. I’ve also delivered customized instructional series on grant writing, racial equity, and antiracism for organizations such as Girls on the Run, Community Foundation of Snohomish County, and Wesley U. These experiences have honed my ability to engage learners from different backgrounds using strategies that are reflective, inclusive, and impactful. Whether in one-on-one settings or small group formats, my focus remains on cultivating critical thinking, academic confidence, and lifelong learning skills.
