I've consistently been a Latin student since my sophomore year of high school, and I am now a senior in college graduating this spring with a bachelor's degree in Classics with an emphasis in languages. Classes I've taken include Latin, Koine Greek, Classical history and literature, Ancient Near Eastern history (including Egyptian history), Ancient and Medieval art, and Mythology and Literature. I wrote my capstone last fall on the origins of the goddess Athena and her representation in early Athenian plays.

My experience with tutoring begins back in middle school, when I helped with a church program for elementary students. I also worked as a tutor/babysitter for some family friends. Since then, I've done some volunteer work with kids ranging from Kindergarten to high school. I also did a "Tutorial Practicum" for Latin through my college, which basically meant that I was the professor's aide and I provided free tutoring for the beginning Latin students. I've also taken a beginning Education class, and I plan to become a history/Classics teacher in the future.

I have a very strong understanding of Latin syntax and grammar. I have experience with both Classical and Evangelical Latin, and I can switch between the pronunciations depending on which system you are learning. I love the language and its structure as well as its rich history. Latin grammar can be intimidating, but I believe the first step is to have a clear understanding of the relevant equivalents in English grammar and then learn how to apply that knowledge to the new language, so by working with me, you might get better at English grammar too! If you need help understanding grammar structure and syntax, learning new vocabulary, or putting the language into its proper historical context, I'm here to help.

I know that history can be intimidating, but with the right people to guide you, it can actually be incredibly interesting and even fun! I had no idea I would love history this much until I got to college and started to learn from professors
