I will explain the physical and mathematical concepts and guide you through a variety of practice problems. I believe the real learning occurs when you are solving the problems.

I hold a Ph.D. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Washington, and I have nearly 40 years' experience working in the physical sciences in the private sector. I have used my knowledge of physics and mathematics to model and build high power gasdynamic lasers, to model and test hydraulic borehole mining systems, to study Arctic sea ice mechanics, and to analyze the potential energy savings of emerging energy efficient technologies.

Great Physics Tutor

Stu was patient and nice to work with. He explained things in a new way that really helped me understand the problems for Pys 114. Definitely improved my grade. If your looking for help he is a great tutor!

Very knowledgeable and patient tutor with much enthusiasm for many interests

Stu helped me with Wavelengths, phaseships, period and frequencies. I have much more confidence in my ability to end this junior year of high school... Thanks Stu!

Knowledgable Tutor

He was excited about what I was doing and was very helpful getting me started with a physics project. The print out sheet he had for me with some conversions was really nice and I'll be using it as a reference for the rest of my class.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Stu worked on piecewise graphing. He's always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a student understands the concepts and is prepared for tests. Our family very much appreciates his patience and knowledge of the subject.

Son Felt Very Comfortable with Stu

This was my son's first lesson with Stu and he felt very comfortable with him and how he explained things. My son couldn't open his computer tablet for the lesson plan, so Stu created impromptu lessons based on what he is learning in class.

Knowledgable and effective tutor

Did a great job with our Corporate group, we were able to take a deep dive and a good overview for the beginners. Thank you Stu!

All Lessons are great with Stu

We worked a variety of calculus problems including integral of trigonometric function; limit of rational functions; integrating polynomials; graphical integration; finding tangent lines; extrapolations using the tangent line and others. We always accomplish a lot in the lesson time.

Enthusiastic about his subjects and very personable

Stu helps my daughter with pre calculus and chemistry. He is a great help with both subjects, relieving her stress and helping her gain confidence and interest in the subjects.

Lisa, 7 lessons with Stu

Very thorough and student oriented.

Stu has been working with my daughter for about 5 weeks now. He takes great care to make sure she understands the tough concepts in either her pre-calculus or her AP Chemistry equations. He will also follow up via email with more ideas or ways to continue the teaching of what was covered during their time together. My daughter does not connect well with adults but feels very comfortable around Stu as they work through the very tough subject matter.
