I’ve spent most of the past 30 years teaching, learning, and writing about history. I have a Master’s Degree in History from the University of Montana and a PhD from the University of Arkansas, where I was a Distinguished Doctoral Fellow. I also have a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Washington. You could say I’ve spent a lot of time in school!
My teaching experience includes four years teaching in public schools in Washington state and nine years as a professor at Flathead Valley Community College in Montana. I’ve been a tutor since 2023. I’ve written four history books of my own as well as numerous historical fiction novels.
My tutoring style is very easygoing. The goal is to help students learn while building their confidence. I approach tutoring as a conversation between myself and the learner. It’s okay to have fun! I refuse to tear people down or be negative.
