I’m an online academic tutor who works with elementary, middle school, high school, and adult learners in reading, writing, math, science, GED preparation, and standardized test prep. I hold a B.S. in Psychology with a Neuroscience emphasis and a minor in Philosophy, which gives me a strong foundation in how attention, memory, reasoning, motivation, and learning habits affect academic performance. Since 2024, I have tutored online full-time, typically providing 30–50 hours of live one-on-one instruction per week while maintaining an active roster of about 25–40 students.

My tutoring experience has included students who are catching up on foundational skills, preparing for exams, strengthening writing and reading comprehension, improving math through Algebra 1 and Geometry, reviewing biology and general science concepts, and preparing for GED subjects such as Reasoning Through Language Arts, math, science, and social studies. Before tutoring online full-time, I also worked for several years in school-based and youth-support settings, where I helped students with academic, behavioral, and learning needs build stronger routines, complete assignments, and access instruction more independently.

My sessions are structured, interactive, and practical. I model skills on a virtual whiteboard, guide students through examples, ask them to explain their reasoning, and help them apply each strategy with more independence. In reading and writing, I focus on comprehension, organization, clear models, revision, and stronger written responses. In math and science, I use step-by-step methods, visual explanations, vocabulary support, and error analysis. My goal is to help students understand the material while building study habits, planning routines, test-preparation strategies, and organization systems they can continue using after tutoring ends.

Approved Subjects

ACT English

ACT English

I have a degree in Psychology/Neuroscience with a minor in Philosophy and extensive experience tutoring high-school English and ACT standardized-test preparation. I work with students on grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, rhetorical analysis, reading comprehension, pacing, and answer-choice elimination, while using practice-test results to create an individualized preparation plan.
Creative Writing

Creative Writing

I help writers turn ideas into finished drafts by teaching the underlying structure of creative writing—clear beginnings, purposeful middles, and satisfying endings—paired with strong character motivation, authentic dialogue, and vivid sensory detail. I’ve built a system that makes creativity easier to control: we outline fast, draft intentionally, and revise using step-by-step checklists that work for both artistic writers and analytical thinkers (including programmers learning storytelling). My background in Psychology/Neuroscience and Philosophy strengthens everything we do—helping you create believable characters, meaningful themes, and logical narrative flow. Whether you’re writing fiction, memoir, or creative essays, you’ll leave each session with sharper sentences, stronger imagery, and a concrete next step toward a polished draft.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I bring experience working both in classroom settings and in 1-on-1 virtual tutoring environments, helping elementary students build strong number sense, confidence, and problem-solving skills. In the classroom, I supported diverse learners with differentiated instruction, visual modeling, and scaffolded practice to ensure concepts were accessible to all students. As a virtual tutor, I use interactive whiteboards, live modeling, and step-by-step coaching to make math engaging and easy to follow in an online setting. I regularly incorporate high-quality resources such as Education.com and other standards-aligned practice tools to reinforce skills, provide targeted practice, and support independent learning between sessions. My instruction emphasizes conceptual understanding (not just procedures), clear strategies for long division, place value, and fluency, and helping students develop confidence and persistence when approaching challenging problems. My goal is to create a structured, supportive learning environment where students feel successful and motivated to keep improving.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I specialize in helping both creative writers and analytical thinkers produce clear, organized, and compelling essays. My system combines strong structural tools—thesis support, paragraph architecture, and logical flow—with sentence-level strategies that improve fluency, clarity, and voice. Creative students learn how to structure their ideas more effectively, while STEM-minded or analytical writers learn how to sound more natural, fluid, and expressive. With a background in Psychology/Neuroscience and Philosophy, I help students communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively, whether they’re writing school essays, research papers, or admissions essays.
Fiction Writing

Fiction Writing

I bring 10+ years supporting students and coach fiction writing from idea to polished draft using clear structure and practical revision systems. I help with schoolwork—creative writing assignments, short stories, narratives, and workshop revisions—by breaking prompts into actionable steps and meeting rubric requirements. Students learn plot structure, character motivation, dialogue technique, and vivid description, then revise using checklists so progress is visible each session. I maintain academic integrity boundaries: coaching and feedback, not writing the story for the student.
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

I hold a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience and Psychology, and bring 10+ years of educational support experience. I help students with course support—lecture concepts, readings, problem sets, lab reports, and exam review—using diagrams and structured notes. Sessions emphasize mechanism-based understanding, data interpretation, and clear scientific writing. Instruction is individualized using diagnostics to target gaps efficiently.
