I am a Data Scientist and graduate student at the University of Southern California, pursuing a Master’s degree in Applied Data Science. I also hold a BS in Economics & Data Science from USC. My background spans mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, and applied data engineering and machine learning.
I have worked in both industry and research settings, building data pipelines, automating analytical workflows, developing machine learning models, and creating dashboards for real-world decision-making. My experience includes applied data science work at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, graph machine learning research at the USC Data Science Lab, and prior roles focused on automation, financial modeling, and analytics. I have also conducted academic research in economics and machine learning and presented at conferences such as PENREC and SOURCE.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my long and diverse teaching background. I have been teaching for most of my life, including classical guitar instruction, mentoring students in FIRST LEGO League and 4-H robotics programs, and tutoring high school students through competitive college admissions, including successful admission to USC. I have also provided AP exam tutoring in AP Calculus AB/BC and AP Physics 1 and 2 with strong results. I have taught students from elementary school through college and adapt my approach to each student’s goals and learning style. I focus on breaking down complex topics into clear, intuitive explanations. I emphasize strong conceptual foundations and practical problem-solving so students build confidence and independence.
Above all, I love teaching and believe learning should be engaging and empowering, even when the material is challenging. I’m very flexible with scheduling and lesson structure, and I look forward to working with you.
I can provide both online tutoring and detailed offline feedback on problem sets, projects, and application essays to support continued learning outside of sessions.
