I hold a Ph.D. in Social Psychology and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, and I bring a strong interdisciplinary perspective to tutoring psychology, statistics, and research methods. My academic training emphasizes not just content knowledge, but how people learn, reason, and struggle with complex material—especially when anxiety or past experiences have made a subject feel intimidating. I have completed advanced graduate-level coursework in statistics, research design, and data analysis, and my doctoral work required extensive use of quantitative methods, including hypothesis testing, regression, and applied statistical reasoning.
I have several years of experience tutoring students one-on-one in both psychology and statistics, working with high school students, undergraduates, and graduate students. Much of my tutoring has involved helping students understand statistical concepts in context—connecting formulas and procedures back to real research questions in psychology and the social sciences. I regularly help students prepare for exams, complete homework assignments, interpret journal articles, and work through research projects using tools such as SPSS. My approach is collaborative and student-centered: I focus on identifying where understanding breaks down, rebuilding concepts from first principles, and adjusting explanations to match each student’s learning style.
As a tutor, I aim to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and thinking out loud. I believe confidence and understanding grow together, so I emphasize clear explanations, practical examples, and guided practice rather than memorization. Whether a student is trying to master introductory statistics, strengthen their understanding of psychological theory, or successfully complete a challenging research course, my goal is to help them feel capable, prepared, and genuinely more confident in their abilities.
