Hello! Bonjour! Anyeonghaseo!

I am a mother of 3 wonderful children and a certified substitute teacher. Currently I work as a para-professional & instructional assistant to 6 STEM teachers for my local school district middle school setting. My current employment means that I have specific, recent experience in teaching 7 & 8th grade ELA, Math (Pre-Algebra & Geometry), Graphic Arts, History/SS & STEM Science courses. I am also studying for my M.A. in K-12 Education with certification in French & ESL/ELA. I have tutored in all elementary-middle school subject levels, including languages (ESL/FRENCH/KOREAN), language arts (reading, writing, listening & comprehension), social studies, science, and mathematics.

I am also a freelance editor, language tutor & translator online, and have experience interpreting for the Dept. of State. I have spent nearly 10 years living & teaching abroad, and more recently in South Korea, where I taught Freshman English (ESL) to native Korean university students.

Personally, I love to travel, write, explore the outdoors and spend time riding bikes & swimming with my family. Spending time with those I love gives me great pleasure while balancing work, my studies, and my family life. In my free time, I volunteer online as a translator, and continually research and review effective teaching methods.

With regard to teaching, I have a multi-faceted approach to education and learning. Students can learn in a variety of ways that help to build their basic skills while promoting creativity, critical thinking and problem solving; this can all be done with the idea that we all have multiple intelligence, and can learn best by employing a variety of learning styles that cater to our own unique, individual needs. I take pride in challenging my students, inspiring them to develop their abilities and talents, and I firmly believe that each and every student can set goals & achieve them!

I am available most evenings for online classes, and several blocks of time in the afternoon for students that would like to meet 1-on-1 at the Bremerton or Silverdale YMCA. I would appreciate a 2 hour or more notice for class cancellations, and am usually willing to hold make-up classes. I offer the 1st class/interview *free* if the student books a class within 3 days, otherwise I charge 1/2 price. Ask me about a *flat rate* for classes paid in advance!

I look forward to working with you and your child(ren)!

Thank you! Merci! Kamsahamneda!
