Hello! My name is Emi. I first found my passion for teaching during my time as a Swim Instructor at the YMCA. I then moved on to work as a teachers assistant at a private preschool daycare where I began to hone my teaching skills. It was during this time that I really began to understand what it means to be a good teacher. I learned from the director the different elements required to become a good teacher myself. One of the lessons I value the most is how important it is to listen to a student and their needs, as it can help improve and adjust my own way of teaching. This methodology has brought me to the understanding that all children learn differently, and no matter where they are starting from academically they can find success in everything they want to learn.
