While in college, I tutored a 2nd grader as a part of our teacher program. During this time we focused on specific passages and fluency through multiple readings. During college, I had the opportunity to teach 3rd and 4th grade students English in Rwanda. These experiences have helped me to grow as a teacher.
I believe that each student is unique and they do not all learn the same way. My lessons are created to complement the students' various learning styles, as well as meet them exactly where they are in their learning journey. As a previous kindergarten teacher, I know how important the foundation skills are to empower students in their journey. I want each student to feel valued and confident in their ability to become a life long learner.
