Hi there! I'm a dedicated and experienced tutor with a strong background in math, science, and the humanities. Throughout my academic journey, I’ve found no “one perfect method” to approach learning. Rather, I often need to adjust my studying style for each class and subject matter. During a tutoring session with me, you can expect a supportive and patient environment in which your questions are always welcome. But more specifically, I will actively adapt my tutoring style to your unique needs, providing alternate ways of thinking about a topic.
I've had multiple tutoring and teaching experiences throughout my life, the most recent being an academic Peer Tutor at Boston University. In this role, I tutored other undergraduate students in General and Organic Chemistry, both in group and one-on-one settings. I’ve also tutored my peers in middle school through an unofficial school club. Additionally, I’ve volunteered as an assistant teacher for lower levels in my dance academy, where I helped out both in group and solo lessons with kids who needed more targeted help. I just finished my undergraduate experience with a major in Medical Science and a minor in Deaf Studies. Next fall, I am entering my first year of medical school at Boston University.
Through my academic career, I've consistently excelled in the classroom and on standardized exams. In high school, I scored at the 100th percentile on the ACT, and I recently scored above the 90th percentile on the MCAT (Medical College Admissions Test). Although my degree is in STEM, I also excel at the humanities. In fact, I scored at the 99% percentile in the reading comprehension-based "Critical Analysis" section on the MCAT. Overall, I'm a capable and motivated tutor who would love to help you achieve your goals! I always welcome feedback from students and parents on ways I can improve the tutoring experience. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or if you would like to schedule a lesson!
