Hello, I'm Nick. I'm a writing tutor for Everett Community College. I became a tutor because it will be invaluable experience when I go to Japan to finish my degree and work as an English instructor. I'm a second year English humanities major. I enjoy anime, video games, crocheting, learning about Japanese culture/Japanese language, and most types of music. I have in the past struggled with writing papers that are well ordered and coherent. I overcame this challenge by writing a rough draft, then walking away and doing something completely different, then coming back to it to read what I wrote, and finally preparing the next version of the paper. I then set it aside for at least 24 hours before reading the next version. The best words of advice I can give any writer, be it personal writing, professional writing, or academic writing is have fun with it, get your hands dirty, make mistakes, use the wrong verbs, and never be afraid to ask for help. You cannot grow as a writer without doing the writing then getting feedback. I'll be more than happy to help any fellow writer improve and grow, so don't be afraid to ask me for help.
