About Anna

Bio

The only thing I'm more passionate about than statistics and data science is helping others learn. In high school calculus, a fellow student asked me for help and offered to pay me. I had no idea what a wonderful opportunity he was giving me past the few dollars I earned. I learned that I love helping others discover their own way to understand difficult and abstract concepts. The only thing I'm more passionate about than statistics and data science is helping others learn. In high school calculus, a fellow student asked me for help and offered to pay me. I had no idea what a wonderful opportunity he was giving me past the few dollars I earned. I learned that I love helping others discover their own way to understand difficult and abstract concepts. Traditional teachers usually only present one single way of understanding a topic, but every person has a unique way of coming to full comprehension. The job of a tutor is to encourage and guide the student to that learning. Since that first student I have regularly tutored students in math and statistics.

I recently completed three consecutive semesters as a teaching assistant for a masters level course in data science. My favorite part of the job was hosting online office hours and walking students through their questions and frustrations with the material and the homework. I received multiple student awards of gratitude, and still love to stay in touch with former students.

I have an undergraduate degree in math, have completed five actuarial exams and most recently, a masters of science in data science and analytics. I have been tutoring since high school and know that it often just takes a new perspective or a simple example to help a difficult concept "click" in a students head.

Anna is patient and incredibly intelligent!
