My professional background involves over forty years in industrial manufacturing involving electrical systems. I have my ETL 508 certificate which is required for industrial control design. I have designed electrical and mechanical equipment ranging from simple conveyors to complete factory automation systems. My favorites are PLC programming and control system design and troubleshooting with sophisticated tools such as scopes and calibrators.
I have been teaching principles of electrical and mechanical engineering at all of the companies I have worked for over my 40 year career. I teach technicians ranging from beginner to journey level. I work a wide variety of technologies including steam generation, compressed air, hydraulics, refrigeration, electrical and mechanical drive systems. I have also worked with many types of machine vision systems.
I mainly work with PLC programming and have programmed complete factory systems including touch screens (HMI’s), SCADA and database management. I have completed courses with Allen Bradley and several other manufactures. I have debugged and modified hundreds PLC and HMI programs. I work with robotics programming on a basis of troubleshooting systems.
I have been a photographer part time for over 44 years. I started with shooting for a small newspaper and quickly found myself in the darkroom. I have taken many classes. My favorite types of photography are industrial forensics and scenic.
I have been learning and teaching all my life and love it. I attribute a great part of my success to others who taught me and were absolutely fascinated with their careers. These individuals were inspiring and capable of brining a
