Hey! I'm Emma, a graduate TA at Western Washington University in mathematics. I am hoping to study combinatorial game theory, but I also love differential equations, probability, and analysis, with a healthy dose of algebraic group theory. I teach pre algebra/algebra at the university I am currently in.

I am hoping to study combinatorial game theory, but I also love differential equations, probability, and analysis, with a healthy dose of algebraic group theory. I finished my BS in Mathematics from Washington State University Fall 2025, with honors. I did an undergraduate thesis in computational solutions to geodesic (PDE/ODE shortest path) equations on R2 (the typical plane). I tutored there for the Math Learning Center at my university for 3 years, serving as a tutor for most undergraduate classes and grader for Ordinary Differential Equations, Trigonometry, and Partial Differential Equations. I also was a Learning Assistant in a Physics 101 classroom, and have studied formal logic through the incompleteness theorems.
I love helping students learn how to translate the language of mathematics into one that feels more comfortable to them, and encouraging creative solutions to problems. I believe in hands-on educational techniques, and using lots of different models to represent the problem.
