Hi, I’m Joanna! I got my Bachelor's at MIT and Master's at Georgia Tech in Aerospace Engineering. I have completed rigorous coursework in physics, mathematics, and engineering design. My education has given me a deep understanding of how to break down challenging STEM concepts into clear, logical steps so that students can actually enjoy learning.

My passion for teaching started in high school, where I founded and led a Physics Club to help classmates strengthen their problem-solving and conceptual understanding. I also worked at well known tutoring company, tutoring students from elementary through high school in math and reading, focusing on building strong foundational skills and independent study habits. In college, I continued working with younger students through outreach and mentorship events for middle and high schoolers as part of MIT's Women in Aerospace Engineering club. These experiences taught me how to tailor my teaching style to different ages, learning speeds, and confidence levels.

I specialize in tutoring AP Physics, AP Calculus, SAT/ACT Math, and other STEM subjects, with a focus on connecting theory to real-world applications. My lessons typically begin with an engaging explanation or demonstration, followed by guided practice and strategies for tackling new problems independently. I want students to not only improve their scores but also feel confident applying what they’ve learned to future coursework.
