I'm Jacob! I graduated Summa cum Laude with a B.S. in mathematics and a minor in astrophysics from the University of Minnesota before moving to Seattle to pursue a Ph. D. in mathematics at the University of Washington. I have experience teaching calculus courses and various upper-level math courses at the University of Minnesota and the University of Washington.

I am passionate about helping students develop the skills and confidence to figure out how to solve math problems. I believe that math can be an enjoyable subject that every student can understand if it is taught in the right way. With a patient and encouraging approach, I hope to help students learn how to think about math in a way that makes sense to them.
In addition to my teaching experience, I also have experience tutoring in physics, chemistry, statistics, and ACT/SAT preparation. I have worked with students as young as third grade.
