Computer Science

Computer Science

I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Science and have been a Teaching Assistant for Computer Science courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. I have additionally worked in interdisciplinary research, utilizing Computer Science concepts in experiment design and analysis. In my academic work, I have mentored engineers and social scientists in Computer Science and software related areas.
Data Analysis

Data Analysis

I've co-authored many journal articles in diverse subject matters, including neuroscience, public health, population projection, artificial neural networks, and maternal mortality. I have expansive experience with R and python, for data analytics, data visualization, and general software engineering (4 years tech industry experience). My educational background comprises of a BS and MS in Computer Science, giving me a strong mathematical foundation for data analysis.
Java

Java

I worked on Android/Pixel devices at Google, using Java. I also worked on some other Google projects in Java. Educational background is MS+BS in Computer Science from Case Western Reserve University.
JavaScript

JavaScript

I have created several web apps and web server applications using JavaScript, as well as JacaScript frameworks ReactJS and NodeJS. I have 3+ years software industry experience, and 4+ years of academia experience (which involved a lot of web application development for research tools).
Machine Learning/ AI

Machine Learning/ AI

I have 4+ years of experience working on academic projects that utilize Machine Learning. This includes Natural Language Processing, Agent-Based Modeling, Decision Trees, Genetic Algorithms, and Artificial Neural Networks. I have mentored Research Assistants in constructing custom Artificial Neural Networks for specific purposes, e.g. temporal data.
SQL

SQL

I have been a Teaching Assistant in undergraduate and graduate level classes on Databases, covering foundational topics like relational algebra, tuple relational calculus and entity-relationship diagrams, and applied them modern applications like SQL, RDF, XML, and No-SQL. In my industry, academic, and hobbyist experience, SQL has been core to several projects. I have designed many SQL databases, written countless complex queries, written scripts to dynamically generate queries, and optimized databases for query efficiency.
Statistics

Statistics

I've done many quantitative analyses of public and PI-collected human data sets, leading to publications of the analyses as well as reformatting data sets into inputs and validation goals for various kinds of models.

George is great with data science

George has been helping with a Gene expression computational research. He is very patient and I see that he is great with data science. He has helped with loading large raw data sets and helping to organizing the loaded data to help get the research project started. I would really recommend him if you need any help with data science/ machine learning.

Intelligent and insightful

I've had some great sessions with George. I was really stuck on the direction of a semester project for my class and he helped me get on track. He brainstormed with me with very little to go on and provided clear, sizable steps to work towards the goal of completion.
