Hello! My name is Diane Z. I love to teach and tutor! There is not only one way to teach and there is not only one way to tutor! It is important to find a tutor who is “user friendly”, knowledgeable, approachable, and especially a tutor who loves teaching/tutoring! I thoroughly enjoy the energy of elementary school students!

I am an experienced teacher with over twenty-five years of public-school teaching. Since 2012, I have been a substitute teacher for Kindergarten-Grade 5. I also taught middle school and high school Family and Consumer Sciences/Health, for over seventeen years.
I am a published contributing author and currently writing a children’s book with an illustrator, who is a retired elementary school teacher. Reading, writing and vocabulary are like a hand in a glove, they go together! I will help your child to enjoy reading, writing and vocabulary by utilizing creating teaching/tutoring styles.
It is my experience, in tutoring elementary school students in study skills, that sometimes the student may feel more comfortable with an adult other than their parent/guardian. Tutoring allows for one-on-one individualized attention, helps the student receive specific lesson plans for his/her specific learning styles and the student learns that learning is fun! Their academics improve, as well as study habits, self-confidence and self-esteem because he/she is succeeding with consistent tutoring.
Since parents are their child's first teacher, tutoring needs to be a joined effort. Please contact me and together we will plan how best to serve your child along the educational paths of reading, writing, vocabulary, and study skills utilizing creative teaching styles. My preference, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, is for online tutoring, however, I remain open to meeting at a library for tutoring. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you for considering me for your child's tutor.
