I spent the younger years of my life (1974 - 1994) attending to a Military Career and raising my family. I started my teaching career in the Military with military weapons and taught military personnel on the correct and safe way to handle and fire weapons. My civilian teaching career began in 1994 in Buffalo New York teaching Junior ROTC military traditions and drill to high school students in grade 9-12. I completed my teaching career with JROTC in Vermont in 2015. I do have experience teaching individual students in military drill and honing their learning to outside activities that could not be taught properly in a classroom setting. I would enjoy tutoring individual students and to see them progress in their actions to excel in the subject taught.
I have always enjoyed reading and have kept up to date on most Non-fiction accounts of World War II, but I also enjoy Fiction, harboring more on adventure novels. In order to understand reading, the reader must understand sentence structure. I was never a good reader and when I was young, a tutor helped me to become a better reader.
During the years I taught in a local high school, I never could have become proficient with a computer until I taught in a local school. I understand how a computer works, and can figure out the programs associated with different programs such as Microsoft Windows and Powerpoint. Prior to receiving on-line computer lesson plans to teach from, I made all my own lesson plans using the Powerpoint program.
I have been in a teaching role since the early 1980's when I first stepped into a classroom and received a low grade on a Demo/Application type teaching style. I do not claim to know everything, but I do know quite a bit about teaching subjects both in and outside of a classroom. As long as I can understand "just where you stand" and "where you would like to go" I believe I could help you be a better learner, and to help you "Push the Envelope."
