Hi! I am an experienced educator who started at the bench and transitioned to the classroom, currently teaching professionally with certifications in science and online teaching. My strengths are content engagement and relational teaching. I work hard to master content in order to teach it accurately and with the nuance and complexity it deserves. I connect with students to adapt teaching and curriculum to their preferences and goals. And I can leverage technology to offer flexible, responsive tutoring, whether it's a specific virtual session, quick video explanation, or assignment/lesson series.
In my formal education, I completed undergraduate and doctoral programs in science, then a master's in teaching in order to learn techniques and strategies for the classroom. I am currently teaching high school life sciences, but have other experience tutoring and volunteering with K-college education. While my most recent experience is in high school level biology, I love to expand into other areas and can help scaffold the skills and content learning needed for success in many areas.
