I am a Yale University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in History and several years of experience teaching and tutoring middle and high school students in both classroom and one-on-one settings. My academic training emphasized historical analysis, research, and clear writing, which I now focus on developing in my students through engaging lessons, guided discussion, and structured skill-building.
I began teaching through an intensive summer program with Pathfinder Tutoring at Hopkins School, where I taught daily two-hour humanities classes to middle school students over the course of the program. I designed lesson plans and assignments to measure student progress, facilitated group discussions, and supported students in building confidence in reading comprehension, writing, and critical thinking. In addition to classroom instruction, I held individual meetings with students to discuss academic goals, learning strategies, and personal development.
Alongside this classroom experience, I spent over two years tutoring students through Squash Haven, a nonprofit based in New Haven, in both classroom support and one-on-one sessions. I worked with students ranging from 6th to 12th grade to strengthen skills in history, writing, and general academic subjects, as well as to prepare for school assessments and standardized testing. My approach is student-centered and adaptable, focusing on clear explanations, active engagement, and helping students understand concepts deeply rather than memorizing material. I strive to create a supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, and long-term academic growth.
