Does your child need help with reading or writing? Does your child struggle with a disability such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, or autism? I am a patient and experienced tutor who can help.
Growing up, I always had a deep love of books and learning. I could spend hours reading—going on adventures with the American Girl characters, laughing as Anne Shirley turned her hair green in Anne of Green Gables, experiencing the many babysitting adventures of The Babysitters Club, or sleuthing alongside Nancy Drew. That joy and excitement for reading is what I now strive to share with every child I teach.
I specialize in reading instruction for children ages 4–12, including students with learning differences and disabilities. My lessons focus on phonics, decoding, fluency, and reading comprehension, while always meeting each child at their individual level. I believe strong reading skills are the foundation for success in all subjects, and I work patiently to help children build both skills and confidence.
I am a lifelong learner. I graduated from Keene State College in 2013 and returned to the Community College of Vermont twice (2017–2019 and 2021–2023), earning my certification in Early Childhood Education. I continue to grow professionally through online courses via Northstar at the Community College of Vermont and Coursera. I am currently working on getting my TESOL Certification to allow me to teach ESL.
I am kind, caring, focused, and passionate about helping children succeed. I tailor lessons to a child’s interests to keep them engaged and motivated, making reading both meaningful and enjoyable.
Let’s help your child love reading and grow in confidence!

Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I have credentials in Early Childhood to be able to teach kids in a classroom from ages 3 up through third grade. Most of my work has been working with kids ages 3 to 14. I have worked at a local Montessori School, my local school district, and I currently work at Headstart. I worked at three summer camps for campers ages 5 and up.
Reading

Reading

My reading skills have tested in the top percentile in the state of Vermont, and I have experience helping both elementary and middle school students improve their reading and writing abilities. I am certified in Early Childhood Education and have supported students ages 3–14 in developing strong literacy skills. I am passionate about reading and enjoy young adult, fantasy, and historical fiction, including the Anne of Green Gables series. I strive to help students build confidence and develop a lifelong love of reading.
Special Needs

Special Needs

I have many years of working with kids who are on the spectrum. I was a camp counselor at two all inclusive camps. The camps were Camp Sweyolakan in Coeur'd Alene, ID and Camp Howe in Goshen, Mass. Some of my favorite campers were the ones who needed extra help. I am currently working at Headstart as a Substitute teacher and I did substitute teach for my local school district too. I took classes in Disability Studies at the Community College while getting my certificate in Early Childhood Education.

Patient tutor.

She is teaching my son to read he is struggling and needs a lot of repetition. She is patient and understanding even when he is anxious and doesn’t want to do it.
