I work with both neurodivergent and neurotypical children ages 4-12 in reading and writing. I learned from the lead teacher that patience is key with any child to help them be successful. During the summers I would spend my summers working three different summer camps, two of which were all-inclusive to children and staff who were disabled and LGBTQIA. Through training and working with the kids and staff I learned a lot about working with both LGBTQIA and disabled individuals. I learned from the kids' patience, stopping to listen to them, and that these kids are not any different than other kids, they just need individuals who understand them.
I got my degree in Early Childhood Education in 2022. I have been substitute teaching at my local Headstart Program since 2022 and working for a local school district. Through being a substitute teacher and a camp counselor I have had to get to know whole groups of children within minutes. As both a substitute and a counselor I am able to change plans on a dime. I think that my experience as both a substitute teacher and a camp counselor can really benefit your child.
