I want to help make learning fun and thought provoking for the student so that they can get the most out of it. My philosophy is that when learning is engaging, the student will become a forever learner. As a tutor my job is to make the learning exciting, engaging and accessible.

I have always been a lifelong learner. I started really getting into reading when I was about 9 years old and at that time I read mostly historical fiction. I get absorbed when I read exciting and engaging stories that I would love to help get your student to become invested in. As far as reading goes I tested as an adult in the top percentile (as an adult) in the state of Vermont.
As both a substitute teacher and a camp counselor I have had the pleasure of working with many different kids. Many of the children I have worked with have had disabilities. I have worked with children who have had disabilities such as autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia. I approach each child with kindness, caring and patience regardless of whether they are neurodivergent or neurotypical.
I got my degree in Early Childhood Education in 2022. I have been substitute teaching since 2015 for my local school district and the Headstart Program since 2022. I enjoy being a substitute teacher because it is a challenge. Being a substitute I have to be flexible and able to try different methods of teaching and I will bring that same level of flexibility to tutoring as well. I am able to pivot and try different techniques until it works. My favorite ages are the preschool and elementary school age groups. Through being a substitute teacher I have picked up some fun and engaging activities that will spark any child's imagination.
I think that my experience as a substitute can really benefit you or your child. I can pivot to try different types of teaching methods and learning styles.
I only tutor PreK-6th grade, Students with Special Needs, Reading, and Knitting and Crochet
