Hello! My name is Tod and I specialize in middle and high school-level mathematics through pre-calculus. I look forward to helping you achieve your educational goals and building your foundation for mathematical success.

I have been a part-time math tutor for more than two decades and after recently retiring from my full-time job, I am now a full-time tutor. My goal is to help students feel at ease with math and to build a strong foundation for current and future math courses.
During my tutoring sessions, I provide an encouraging and engaging environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions. I ensure that the concepts involved with their homework are understood. I address misconceptions and provide additional examples to solidify their understanding. My reward is to hear the pride students demonstrate when the light bulb has clicked and when they’ve done well on a test.
I hold a B.S. in Computer and Electronics Engineering from George Mason University and have 35 years of experience as an electrical and research engineer at the Federal Aviation Administration and National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Fantastic Knowledgeable Tutor!

Tod has tutored our fourteen year old son in math for quite some time. He is an extremely knowledgeable teacher who is willing to take the time to assess and figure out what approach works best for his students. My son says "Mr. Lewis thoroughly explains new concepts to me and will make sure that I understand them before moving on to something new. He is patient with me when I might not get something immediately." Tod has been a tremendous asset in preparing our son for more challenging math in the future.
