Hi! My name is James, and I am excited to potentially work with you! I grew up in Dale City, VA, with three sisters and have awesome parents who encouraged me to do my best in my studies. That is all I will ask of you, because your best is all you can do as they learn and grow as a student. As a kid, I loved earth sciences especially meteorology and atmospheric sciences. You could catch me watching thunderstorms roll by and listening to my favorite broadcast meteorologists on TV and radio. I ended up having many internships with the National Weather Service, ABC-7 WJLA and WeatherBug, as I completed my degree in Meteorology.
I pursued a 3 year career in broadcast meteorology, during which I worked for an independent station and company hybrid, called WeatherVision and Ocean-7 TV in Mississippi. Then worked for NBC KFDX-3 TV in Texas. But that is a very demanding field so I decided to go back to North Carolina State University and complete a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Science (GIS). I had many internships during that graduate degree pursuit, and worked full time in the Electricity Utility industry for six months. Now I am applying for more full time jobs in GIS while I work multiple jobs in Dale City.
This is my first tutoring opportunity but I have guest taught a Meteorology topic for an Earth Sciences course when I was in high school. I love helping others understand what they don't comprehend as much as I can. I look forward to helping you in any way I can.
I specifically can help with understanding meteorology and atmospheric concepts, and if you need other areas of physical science, I will do what I can to study and refresh myself with the concepts you need help with. I can take technical concepts of meteorology and atmospheric sciences and share them in an understandable manner.
