My name is Eva and I was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain. I grew up learning two languages at the same time, Spanish and Catalan. English is my third language. I can help you to read, write and speak the proper Spanish or Catalan. One of my goals is to keep the student challenged, not overwhelmed and to learn at their own pace.
I have my BA in Business Administration from the University of Barcelona. I taught for 2 years in both Secondary and High Scholl, and I'm fully up to date with the latest developments in education and qualifications. I have been a Spanish and Catalan tutor for almost 3 years. I always discuss the needs of my new pupils very carefully and aim to build their confidence in the subject. I, myself had to learn English and do understand how difficult is to learn a new language.
I'm available for tutoring weekdays from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM. My base rate is $40 per hour for in person lessons.
Why should you learn a new language?
1 - Foreign Language study creates more positive attitudes and less prejudice toward people who are different.
2 - Knowledge of foreign languages may also increase your chances of finding a new job, getting a promotion or a transfer overseas. Business skills plus foreign language skills make an employee more valuable in the marketplace.
3 - Foreign language study enhances listening skills and memory. It has been proven to delay the onset of dementia.
My classes are fun and engaging. I plan programs of study that meets your individual requirements, interests, and abilities.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping to achieve success in your studies. My name is Eva and I was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain. Eva did a great job tutoring our son for his Spanish test. She was very available for a week of last minute crash studying. We are very grateful for her help!
I appreciate your words, it was a pleasure working with your son, he is a great student! Thanks so much!
My son needs extra help with Spanish as it doesn't come naturally to him. Eva came for the first time today. As a native speaker, she's precise and stresses the importance of proper accent and grammar. I was extremely pleased with the lesson and look forward to seeing him grow in the language with her help.
Eva is a very patient and understanding tutor. She is willing to work with my son at his level and welcomes input from his teacher to help him build a good foundation in Spanish.
She has been doing a exceptional job so fat at tutoring my son in Spanish. I look forward to future progress.
Eva is awesome! She not only teaches very well she has a way of making you feel comfortable and confident. Thanks Eva
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
