An Emmy-winning creator with over 10 years of tutoring, training, and teaching experience. Literacy has been my life since second grade where I was introduced to Creative Writing, specifically poetry. From there, I attended specialty schools, including a fine and performing arts program (formerly) at Woodbridge Senior High. After high school, I went to Savannah State University for English Language and Literature. During my junior year, I became a Peer Tutor for the Writing Center. Specializing in Linguistics, Essay Writing, and Creative Writing, I raised the Writing Center attendance by 300% one-on-one peer review! I expanded the center by attracting more staff and Graduate students, I also began creating guide and methods to improve writing as a skill.
Postgrad, I returned to the DC, Maryland, Virginia metropolitan area and worked as a Substitute Teacher. Quickly ascending the ranks, I became a Testing Intervention teacher for Henderson Elementary School, assisting students one-on-one improve their statewide testing scores through individual lessons. Transitioning from childhood education, I became an adult trainer of Patent Examiners and other employees of the US Patent Office for over 5 years. Currently, I am promoting literacy through book reviews on social media, but I hope to transition back to more one-on-one services.
