Hey, I'm Ashvin! I graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology and am currently attending the University of Virginia with a 4.0 GPA. I am thinking about double majoring in computer science and math while on a pre-med track. I have tutored elementary level students up to college students in math, chemistry, biology, physics, and computer science.
I hosted SAT Bootcamps under the Schoolhouse organization, and taught topics from Algebra to Multivariable Calculus. Additionally, I co-founded a club at Poe Middle School to introduce students to novel STEM concepts not found in their curriculums. An internship with the Bastian Learning Program also allowed me to coach MATHCOUNTS for middle school students. Peer-led tutoring at UVA has given me experience with students my own age.
My approach to tutoring is breaking complex problems down into their most foundational and easy to understand parts. By doing this, any problem type can be mastered and the thought process for answering various questions can be learned and repeated. I work with students from elementary to college, and am looking forward to helping anyone who wants it!
