I’m Amanda, but I also go by Mandi. I am a current college student at Shenandoah university studying both psychology and music. I also have an interest in English and was even told I would be a great English or creative writing major. I have also managed to keep a 3.8 GPA even when I was going through hardships last semester

I was a vocal coach for a group of highs schoolers in Greensboro when I was attending Guilford college before transferring to Shenandoah. It was a great opportunity and it was amazing to see them perform on stage after coaching them. My approach to teaching essentially starts with me not only assessing my student’s abilities, but also what their interests are. I tailor my lessons to each student because no one learned the same way. I also like to include their interests in lessons so they can hopefully enjoy them.
I want my students to know that even if they make a mistake, that they will be ok. As psychology student, I know how badly a fear of failure can affect someone. I would like to help assure them that mistakes are part of the process and that reaching out for help is always an option.
