Hello, Everyone! I am a fourth year student at the College of William and Mary studying Mathematics, Standard Concentration. I have been tutoring with the Tribe Tutor Zone at William & Mary for 3 years now working about 10-20 hours a week during the school year. I have tutored Calc I & II, Linear algebra, and Physics I & II. Since the start of Covid I have taught exclusively online with some small exceptions for my closest students last semester and am very comfortable teaching on an online platform.
I love teaching mathematics. I really enjoy breaking down the thought process of each problem step by step so that it is understandable to students. Mathematics at its core requires a varieties of tools to solve a variety of problems. With a strong tool belt and understanding of types of possible problems any students can solve any problem. My first step with each student is finding what piece of knowledge is missing and working problems that familiarize the student with that particular style of approach/problem.
Further more as I am a mathematics major I am able to dive deeper with any student who is curious where these theorems or techniques come from! BTW Linear algebra has been my favorite subject in College and I have take two high level courses in Lin Algebra and its applications alongside tutoring Intro Lin Al. for 5 semester. If you are looking for help in this subject I am a great choice!
Reach out to me if you have any questions about a particular subject or about scheduling.
Joshua has provided examples of their subject expertise by answering 2 questions submitted by students on Wyzant’s Ask an Expert.
This tutor is thorough. My daughter went from being lost in her physics class. Her test scores ranged from 50s to 70s. Since working with Josh her test scores improved significantly to the 90’s. Her confidence and joy is evident.Stacy, 8 lessons with Joshua

thorough and resourceful
He is very kind and will take the time to explain something multiple times in different ways if necessary. He comes prepared by looking at an assignment beforehand. If anything needs clarification, he will follow up with an email. He is also flexible and will schedule for the next day. Very helpful.Dylan, 3 lessons with Joshua
What a Guy.
What a guy and what a tutor. Josh was proficient in explaining physics problems into understandable terms, while ensuring that concepts were understood. He was also personable and easy to get along with, very much like speaking to the smart friend you wish you had.Laura, 6 lessons with Joshua
Joshua, is in one word, comprehensive. Online classes are tough because you’re basically teaching yourself and physics doesn’t make it any easier. Joshua makes it easier to follow and understand. He is patient and makes sure you fully understand before moving on. Appreciate the help my guy.Virgil, 2 lessons with Joshua
