My name is Mariyah. I obtained my PhD in Biomedical Engineering in 2023. My engineering coursework required passing complex math courses and applying their concepts to various real-world problems. While in college I served as a supplemental instructor for Biomaterials and a Lead Facilitator for Pre-calculus and Calc 1. In both positions, I was able to help students complete homework assignments, study for tests, and overall understand the material better. I loved coming up with creative ways to help the students learn and enjoyed watching them grasp the material.

In my tutoring approach, I am committed to fostering academic success for every student I work with. My dedication to their achievement is reflected in a structured and focused teaching style that emphasizes the mastery of fundamental concepts. I believe it is crucial to understand the CONCEPTS so whenever I am tutoring I make sure my students know the reason behind their calculations. Through my experience I have perfected creating an environment that is both challenging and supportive, pushing students to reach their full potential while providing the necessary guidance and encouragement along the way.
