I'm Sophie! I was born in Germany, graduated from a German University and have a teaching degree in English, Psychology, Economics and Media Education. My first language is German. I have about 10 years of experience teaching at a school in Germany (students age 10 - 25+) and also worked as a school psychologist.

Now living in the US, I‘d be happy to help you improve your German or English (ESL) skills!
As a school psychologist I can also help you stay motivated, show you strategies on how to organize your learning or improve the efficiency of your learning.

I also have a degree in media education, so I know how to best structure our lessons even if we are not meeting in person and our online lessons will be both - fun and productive! After getting to know you and your goals in the first lesson, I will create a lesson plan so we always keep track of your progress. I am happy to have our lessons either more structured (especially if you consider yourself at beginner or intermediate level) or more of a conversational lesson (if you are experienced and prefer to improve your speaking skills in certain topics). Of course we can always adjust the teaching style based on the subject and your needs or preferences.
