I was trained to be totally student-oriented, empathetic, thorough, and I have a record of students becoming enthused about the subjects I teach. While I taught math, music, religious studies, history, languages, trades training in the past, I would like to focus on languages now (German, Latin, Old Greek).
Having taught for 15 years in Germany and lived in Germany for 30 years, and still travelling there at least once a year, I am not only a native speaker with an impeccable High German, but I bring the whole cultural background and German life into my teaching. I am able to encourage students to SPEAK the language (rather than teaching about it). My teaching experience reaches from courses in "German for Travelers" to academic lessons.
I can do tutoring one-on-one, in a group, or even on-line. I prefer the direct contact.
Having worked as a counselor, I am able to relate to students' problems and to help them overcome them.
