Hey, I am Dr. Brandon P. I have a degree in Biblical studies, one in organizational leadership, and one in foresight, all with a Biblical context. What I have loved the most over the years is learning the stories in the Bible and bringing them to life for students.
Just like any other ancient text, the Bible is full of layers that we can discover and learn about. Within the scriptures, we can learn ancient truths that have stood the test of time while enjoying the stories of a timeless culture that has impacted the world.
I have been teaching the Bible and training leaders for more than a decade. I believe that every student has the capacity to learn, and their success is greatly increased by the level of their interest. As a teacher, it is my job to make the learning process interesting, engaging, and fun.
When teaching the Bible, I begin with simply reading the text itself and exploring it as it is. Allowing students to understand the text at face value and come to their own understandings creates a baseline for students to then build upon.
Once we have established the baseline, then I start to help the students to peel back the layers of the text. We look at the historical context, the cultural context, the socio-rhetorical context, and several other layers of the scriptures to gain a fuller and more comprehensive understanding.
Whether the study of the Bible is for academic achievement or for personal spiritual enrichment, this approach to studying the Bible is eye-opening and life-changing.
