I taught Secondary mathematics (Algebra 1) for the last 17 years. In addition, I tutored after school, for students who struggled with math, as well as for students who wanted to learn more beyond their grade level. My passion is math and I hope to convey the beauty of this subject to the students.

During the last 17 years of teaching experience, I taught Algebra 2 to various students, as part of our secondary math program. Either in-class or tutoring after school, I adapted my teaching strategies to match the needs of each student. From solving equations to graphing functions to any other topic , I answer patiently specific questions, using a clear and sequential approach. When needed, I explain the theory for the particular topic and then practice more together.

Geometry

I have gained valuable experience in teaching Geometry during the past 17 years as part of our mathematics secondary curriculum at our school. While I have a passion for mathematics as the entire subject, Geometry has always been my favorite. Whether two or three dimensional shapes, I share the specific steps needed to tackle the problems with patience and clarity. Also for the proofs to become accessible, I emphasize the particular sequential algorithms.

During the last 17 years I have taught Prealgebra to middle school students. I am aware of the importance of this topic in mathematics, as a building block for Algebra. Thus, my approach is catered towards the needs of the student, depending on the readiness level to dive into abstract concepts. Some might require still a concrete approach, while others are ready to move into abstract. There are quite a few methods to teach computations with numbers in different forms and I am familiar with many of them.
