Just really briefly, I am a not a tutor by trade and although I do have classroom experience, my direct experience in tutoring is minimal. However, what I lack in teaching, I make up through knowledge of work experience and career. For the last eight years I have worked on all levels of government, rather in an official capacity as staff or unofficially through a exuberant amount of political work, in electoral campaigns, lobbying or relationships with several local, state and federal elected officials. This work comes with a vast knowledge of practices, knowledge of history, subject matter and an intimate and tested knowledge of a history of government and how it works.
Moreover, I have a unique family history that has provided me first-hand view of history and government not shared by many in our society. My classroom experience extends to being a long-term teacher at Rosemont Middle School. My tutoring experience extends to mostly family and friends. In my previous employment as a political organizer, I have an abundance of experience working with volunteers of various ages often having to instruct them on certain materials or practices needed for their services.
Anything that I may lack in teaching experience, I certainly make up for in knowledge of the material and the ability to understand the complexities of our history and government.
