Hey! My name is Ryan. I graduated from Regent University in Virginia Beach with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Through my coursework and undergraduate research experience, I have developed a strong focus in psychology, research methods, and data analysis.
Many students struggle to comprehend topics like research methods, data analysis, statistics, physiological psychology, and abnormal psychology. My tutoring approach is to make learning more digestible and easier to understand, especially when there is a lot of academic jargon involved.
I typically take a more discussion-based approach, adapting to each student’s needs and learning style. I aim to ensure that students are comfortable with their learning and make the topic enjoyable through applying it in their lives.
I have experience working with students of all ages. I have taught and mentored middle and high school students. I currently work as a psychometric testing technician, where I regularly see children, teens, and adults, including individuals with learning disabilities.
Growing up overseas has also helped me learn how to explain ideas coherently, across cultural and educational backgrounds. This is especially helpful when teaching psychological concepts. My goal is to create a supportive, engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable and competent with the material.
