Hi! Are you a college or advanced high school student struggling with one or more courses in math, physics, or electrical engineering, or with an EE capstone/senior project? I would love to help you become a confident, independent problem solver!
I hold a B.A. in Physics and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UVA, with a specialization in microwave engineering. I have a strong understanding of mathematics, physics, and electrical engineering, including calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, classical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, circuits, signals and systems, and electromagnetic/RF engineering appropriate for teaching up to the advanced undergraduate level.
I have experience as a teaching assistant for introductory physics at Cornell (one semester). I taught discussion sections and met with individual students in office hours, ultimately helping over 85 students learn physics. My teaching focused on guiding students through the reasoning behind a problem rather than simply giving them an answer, and I really enjoyed helping my students conquer their fear of physics to become confident in their abilities!
While in college, I worked at SpaceX seven months (internship) on the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects team and did plasma physics, test engineering, and more. That experience allows me to connect theory to practical engineering applications.
I adapt my approach to the student's level and goals. For students who are struggling with fundamentals, I focus on building conceptual understanding before moving into more difficult problems. For students who have difficulty solving problems, I focus on a systematic problem-solving process, identifying where their reasoning breaks down, and practicing similar problems until they can solve them independently.
Maybe you are struggling with a senior project/capstone for your engineering degree? I have experience with PCB design and embedded systems HW/SW, so can offer guidance with your project.
