I’m Hannah, an RN in a Cardiovascular Neuro ICU at Inova Hospital, where I care for high-acuity cardiac and neurologic patients. My role involves continuous assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid clinical decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
I earned my Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marymount University, and previously completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Virginia Tech. My academic background built a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology, which I now apply daily in clinical practice.
While in nursing school, I worked as a tutor through the Student Learning Center, providing 1:1 and small group tutoring across core nursing subjects, including pharmacology, pathophysiology, fundamentals, med/surg, critical care, health assessment, pediatrics, and medication dosage calculations. I am CRLA-certified, reflecting formal training in tutoring and student-centered learning strategies. Through this experience, I developed the ability to break down complex material into clear, structured explanations and adapt my teaching style to each student’s needs.
I also specialize in NCLEX preparation, focusing on prioritization, delegation, and clinical judgment. As a recent graduate who successfully completed nursing school and the NCLEX, I understand how challenging and overwhelming the process can feel, which allows me to guide students with both up-to-date knowledge and practical strategies. I help students approach questions using frameworks like ABCs and safety-based decision-making, while also strengthening their understanding of high-yield content areas. I incorporate multi-scenario practice, NCLEX-style questions, and real-life clinical examples to help students apply nursing concepts and think through complex situations.
My goal is to help students think like a nurse through building confidence, strengthening critical thinking, and succeeding both on exams and in real clinical practice.
