Hello! I’m Saniya. I received a Bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary and am pursuing a JD at George Washington Law School. I struggled academically in the past so I understand the importance of helping others to develop study skills and provide motivation and accountability to stay on track with their learning.
I have many years of experience editing others’ works and even more years developing my skills as a writer, so I provide extremely thorough constructive feedback. It took a long time to develop my writing skills. I used to be very discouraged and thought I would never be as good of a writer as others. It was in large part because of the support of others that I continued to try and was able to improve my writing greatly.
I have worked with teenagers and adults, newer writers and non-native English speakers. I prefer having writers share their work using Google Docs or Ellipsus, and I use the comments, suggestions, and drafts features to give feedback. I emphasize that writing is often subjective, so students should consider which of my notes and suggestions fits their writing. Depending on what you're looking for, I leave detailed feedback on grammar/spelling, word choice/connotation, sentence structure, flow/pacing, plot consistency, characterization, etc.
I consistently receive feedback from my writers saying that they can feel their writing improving, that my comments helped them to develop the skills to see on their own where they can improve. I was told by one writer that I was the most helpful editor they had ever had and that it meant the world to them that I looked over their work so thoroughly. I hope to be just as insightful for you as well!
