While studying to obtain my undergraduate degree I began working for Upward Bound, tutoring underprivileged high school students in the subject areas of English, history and science. Many of these students proceeded to pursue degrees at Ivy League schools. Following this I continued to graduate school and began working with students as a teaching assistant. Upon completing graduate school I worked as an educator at The Junior Museum of Troy. My responsibilities involved presenting local history, science, and reptile education to school groups. In addition to this I also taught at the daily summer camp supported by the museum. Since then I have been teaching various high school groups in a variety of areas of science, as well as tutoring and teaching at the college level.
I have a true passion for teaching. There is nothing more rewarding to me than to help a student achieve their goals. I understand that there is a variety of methods of teaching and reaching students. Employing multiple techniques in order to reach students and help them succeed with their goals is key to me. There has never been a time that I have allowed a student to fail.
