Hi! I'm Robert B, and I'm passionate about helping students succeed in History, Social Science, and Geography. With a B.S. in Global Studies and Maritime Affairs and a minor in Law from California State University Maritime Academy, I have both academic and real-world experience. I've worked internationally, including studying port infrastructure and maritime security in Vietnam and traveling to the Caribbean, which adds a global perspective to my tutoring approach. I also have experience serving as a planner in the Community Engagement Office and working in the classroom as a tutor with the Vallejo Unified School District. These roles gave me invaluable experience working directly with students, helping them grasp challenging concepts, and creating engaging lessons tailored to individual learning styles. As a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, I’ve developed strong leadership and mentoring skills. I’ve led teams, planned complex operations, and trained personnel in a variety of challenging environments. These experiences taught me the value of clear communication, adaptability, and making learning accessible for everyone. I’ve spent time tutoring students in various subjects, helping them master challenging topics with personalized lesson plans.
