Hi, my name is Thomas, I graduated from George Mason University with a bachelor's degree in Information Systems and Operations Management. I received straight As in my elective courses relating to the subjects I currently tutor, including Online and Mobile Gaming, History of Computer Game Design, Intro to Game Design, and Basic Game Design. I have numerous 5 star client testimonials, along with several years of experience for project work and one-on-one sessions with personalized guidance, on other platforms, tutoring 3D design, using software including Blender and Unreal Engine. I’m excited to share what I’ve learned through my coursework, my personal journey since my intrigue from childhood, including skills obtained through a variety of resources outside of university, in engaging and supportive tutoring sessions.
My experience involves tutoring working adults to grade school students, tailoring each session to the learner’s goals and skill level. My methods and approach towards tutoring have involved two-way screen sharing, through which students could choose to see my work, including software hotkeys I use as I press them, and listen to explanations of my design process, to increase understanding. In addition, students can start working and show their work through their screen, while I offer advice on what steps I recommend to take in the software they would like to learn. I also offer to work alongside students, by showing how their work compares to mine, it opens another way to learn. During the course of my sessions, I will ask if students would like me to slow down or if anything needs repeating, so students can have complete notes, and I will offer to quiz students when they encounter best practices that were discussed before to confirm understanding. Since 3D design is such a broad field, please visit the subjects section of my profile for more specific details regarding what I can cover in my sessions. I hope to hear from you with any questions or to schedule a session.
